Royal Purple Crush

Hey Curvettes : )

Sometimes all you need is a great coat to make a statement.  When I’m feeling unenthusiastic about getting dressed when it’s cold out (which happens a lot) I lazily wear all black and put on a coat and call it a day.  But you can still manage to look stylish.  I love buying coats for this reason.  They serve multiple purposes, yes they obviously serve to keep us warm in colder weather but they also create an instant outfit with very little work.  When shopping for coats its easy to give in and purchase a classic yet basic black peacoat.  There’s absolutely nothing wrong with investing in a peacoat — after all it’s considered a classic for a reason but be open to the possibilities.  Take some risks especially for those of you that have real winter seasons, (I cherish the days in Florida when it’s cold enough to break out a winter coat.)  If you’re going to wear a coat all season long why not make it fun with a bright unexpected color or a nontraditional cut.

I bought this coat a few seasons back from Evans UK.  It was a reach for me at the time but I fell in love with the military look and thought the color was dark enough to be worn with everything.  I’m so glad that I didn’t let the royal purple scare me away because it has been a great and useful addition to my winter wardrobe even if I only get to wear it a few times a year.
