So it's officially the first day of Fall! Well, I can't quite get over the fact that I live in a state where it's basically summer all year long. The weather won't let me forget either.
Trying to transition over to a Fall wardrobe is kind of hard when the humidity makes it feel like it's 110º outside. Every breath feels like I'm drowning -- and let's not even begin to talk about what it's like to shoot cold weather looks in this heat!
But people do it. I've seen it with my own eyes.
It was really funny to be in New York for Fashion Week. It was very clear that we would not be experiencing cold or even cool weather. Everyone knew it would be scorching hot but some fashion lovers still were rocking their Fall/Winter looks when it was seriously a sauna in the city.
It was absolutely ludicrous and yes I was judging.
It's not that serious people. I love fashion but I'm practical at the end of the day.
There is a time a place for everything so that's why I have to keep it completely real and transparent with you all.
You will continue to see warm weather inspired outfits on my blog well into winter, because, guess what?! I'm living in the warmest of warm weather and as much as I love layering and wearing scarves, boots and coats I can't front like I'm living in a snow globe.
I literally have to plan a trip to somewhere cold in order to wear all my F/W looks. But today is not that day. It's a warm 85º and I feel like this look is totally appropriate.
I was inspired by old southern charm and chicness.
Gingham is the official print of summer and this style dress is my favorite. It's classic and flattering but if you're busty like me, be warned that your lady friends might be headlining the show.
This dress could easily work for Fall by layering a plain white tee underneath. It will give it a modern feel to such a retro look.
