As a beauty aficionado I'm always on the look out for the latest and greatest products to perfect my beauty routine. There have been some major product fails but the wins? Oh, the wins are epic! Keep reading to see how I achieved this flawless and matte face perfect for a fancy night out.
I have oily skin.
I'm not kinda oily — I'm like "Girl, why are sweating?!" oily!
It's a blessing and a curse because although it helps prevent fine lines and wrinkles having oily skin is something I have learned to deal with or at least learn to blot away. But who has time for that?!
So when a makeup line makes claims of having the best foundation that gives you a flawless matte finish my curiosity and doubts soar. But this time by surprise I was mistaken.
Make Up For Ever gifted me products from their new Ultra HD line with claims that it's more invisible than ever, leaving a flawless complexion on and off camera. Although the steps of application were a little different from my typical routine I was very happy with the results.
Make Up For Ever is known for their long lasting formulas and vibrant colors. But their new Ultra HD liquid foundation tested under super focused 4k lens provides invisible and comfortable coverage with little retouching.
After cleansing & moisturizing my face I first applied the Mattifying Skin Equalizer Primer. This created a smooth matte canvas ready for makeup application. It didn't leave any white debris that some mattifying primers can.
Then I took the Ultra HD Foundation Stick (which can also be used to contour) as a color corrector. I concealed dark spots and areas of hyper-pigmentation with a quick swipe. Then I took my brush and sprayed makeup setting spray to damp it and apply the liquid foundation.
The Ultra HD Liquid Foundation is very buildable and you're bound to find your right color because it comes in 40 shades! I'm wearing Cognac but probably would have went a shade or two darker (Cinnamon or Coffee). It's made up of uniquely coated pigments that provide lightweight coverage.
I love a full coverage look so I had to apply a generous amount (4 pumps) to get it to my liking. I used the Artisan Foundation Brush #108 to swipe from the center of my face stretching outward.
I finished up with Make Up For Ever's super popular HD MicroFinish Powder to seal in all the mattifying goodness. I wore my makeup for 6 hours and hardly had to blot (3 times in 6 hours) which is a total win for me. I typically have to blot before I even leave the house.
So Make Up For Ever's Ultra HD Foundation gets 4 out of 5 stars and is totally Curvy Lady Beauty Approved!
