The Big Girl & the Little Top

I’ve been ill and although I’m not 100%  better you can’t keep this lady down.  Hope you guys enjoy the latest post!

There will always be fashion trends that the fashion world will deem “inappropriate” for a curvy silhouette.  I have always had a problem with this kind of thinking because regardless of your size there is always a risk of  looking drab when you don’t dress for your shape. (Yes, that means skinny people can look a hot mess too.)  So I usually don’t listen to people that say “Oh, you can’t wear that because you’re *whispers* fat!” — All I have to say to that is not only will I wear it I will rock it!  Now don’t get me wrong I’m not a skinny girl hater in fact most of my nearest and dearest friends are petite and not considered plus sized by any means (& I love them to pieces).  What I do hate is when others underestimate the power of true style and count me out because I don’t look like the women on the runway.  It’s difficult to change minds though with just words so I’m all about action.  That’s why I like to take fashion risks and use them as opportunities to show that style knows no particular size.

One fashion trend that I love is wearing cropped tops.  Some curvy girls may steer away from cropped tops to avoid the risk of showing some belly. There are worst things in life believe me– but if you are uncomfortable showing some of your belly jelly pair your cropped top with some high waisted pants.  It’s a great look and easy to dress up or down.

Speaking of style — I just landed my first styling gig!  My friend is working on a fashion show at the Florida State College of Jacksonville.  It’s next month and she wants me to style her and possibly her boss! Pretty cool huh?!  As always I will keep you posted with all the deets.
