Hello Beauties!
I hope you are well. The images of the aftermath that Superstorm Sandy has left behind breaks my heart. My thoughts and prayers continue to go out to all the victims. Wherever you are I hope you are safe, warm and loved. I’m sending good vibes towards all of you! xx
Last week Florida was pretty cold due to the storm — it was as low as 40 degrees in some areas. It was a great opportunity to break out some fall staples — knits, scarves, tights and boots. I’m constantly trying to reinvent myself because I don’t like to be boxed in one particular style. My looks are varied because I dress according to how I feel and I’m inspired by different characters whether they are real or my favorite — literary!
Sometimes though this inspiration may not be understood by your fashion peers & that’s perfectly okay. That’s the great thing about fashion — it’s open to interpretation. At the same time you must be confident and prepared to stand alone at times. Not everyone may be on board with your fashion choice but you have to be — and that’s the only person’s whose opinion really counts. You have to be your biggest fan. Imagine Lady Gaga or Prince conforming their style to mainstream standards! They wouldn’t be the artists that we’ve come to know regardless of how we feel about their fashion choices. (I particularly think Prince can do no wrong. I love him!)
This amazing dress is vintage and courtesy of my friend Heather. She has a vintage shop on etsy called Vintage Talks. I was excited to wear funky colored tights for the first time this season and I paired them with some peep toe wedges. Some people might think wearing peep toed shoes with tights is a fashion faux pas. I totally understand because I used to be one of them! But as time goes by I appreciate that my style choices have evolved because I’ve realized that I would be missing out on experimenting and possibly loving a look I once would describe as “eww!” Don’t be afraid to step outside the box, I promise, it’s not so bad being on the outside.

I hope you all had a great Monday and don’t forget about the LS 1426 Fashion Week (Nov. 8-11th). It’s this weekend in Miami. Because of scheduling conflicts I won’t be attending all the events but I will definitely be there on Sunday for the show. You can still get your tickets here! I’d love to see you there.
I love your color coordination. You look amazing!!!
Thanks Darther! I loved how it turned out. Thanks again for the dress. I get so many compliments!
I love this entire look the peep toes and tights look amazing!
Thanks lady! I’m really happy with the turnout. I’m going to have to try it again and again. The hard part now is finding a variety of designs and colors. I’m always up for a challenge.
I agree! And this outfit looks great so think about what you’d be missing! I personally never thought peep toe shoes and tights were an issue. Maybe that’s just the advantages of being mostly unaware of what the other people think about fashion (which could come from not being exposed much to fashion media and changing countries often where perspectives change).
Thanks Rita! My style has definitely changed over the years. I had one year that I only wore baby blue (7th grade)! I’ve come a long way baby! And I’m sure I will continue to change. That’s what I love about fashion…so many opportunities to embrace the edgy chameleon inside. Thanks for reading!
Oh and BTW … in what countries have you lived in? I love to travel and to meet new people from all over. Are you in the states now?
