Neon Bright

A well dressed woman will always get noticed for all the right reasons – regardless if she’s wearing a ball gown or a ball cap and sneaks.  It’s the understated sexiness, sophistication, class, femininity  — that je ne se quoi… that makes being a woman and playing dress up so much fun.

That idea is what I inspired this look.  I wanted to get back in touch with the real me.  I had finally started to feel like myself again after being sick for what felt like forever.  I had been looking a hot mess in pajamas — completely zonked out off cough medicine for so long that I thought it would take a miracle for me to feel motivated to get up let alone dress up.  After an amazing home remedy courtesy of my mother I felt well enough to put on liquid eyeliner.  This was major progress people!  So when I was well enough to actual step back out into the light it was only right to reintroduce myself to the world with a neon bright entrance.  Sayonara cold germs — ain’t nobody got time for that.

I love the use of color in fashion and the right color can do so much for you.  Don’t be afraid to incorporate bold hues in your wardrobe.  You might not feel comfortable rocking head to toe neon but start off small if that’s what you need.  Just be open to it!  A neon mani or pedi is a great way to start incorporating a little bit of color in your style life — think of Sanaa Lathan in Something New — such a cute movie!
