This ModCloth skirt is helping me stay chic, classy and cool this summer.
You can catch in me in a dress or skirt more often than not. I’m a fan of the freedom it gives and the instant as well as effortless chicness it gives an outfit even in the savage heat of summer time in Florida.
Immediately I gravitated to this striped number because, well, I’m a sucker for stripes (even with the absurd fashion rules about them not being for everybody.)
The truth about fashion is that it’s a not a members only club. It’s the opposite. The truth is that it’s for everyone and every body — including mine and yours.
That’s why I love the concept behind ModCloth’s Fashion Truth campaigns. If you’ve been following me for a while you might remember that I wrote an open letter last fall along with ModCloth CEO’s Susan Koger, addressed to the fashion industry and the false images of perfection used in it’s advertising. It called for them to take on the challenge of not doctoring their images and using women and their bodies as they are, which for the majority means being perfectly imperfect.
