I wanted to remove the standard fiberglass stand in shower built-in and give the overall bathroom a more modern look; this would be easily done with some clean medium sized tile.
Honestly, the wide variety of tile selections at the Home Depot made it so hard to choose but I was able to pick two classic styles that would create a minimal but striking visual impact; a porcelain subway tile and a marble white hexagon mosaic.
The biggest part of this renovation was the flooring. Changing up the flooring makes such an immediate difference when you enter a room and I knew I wanted to select something that would evoke a spa-like feel.
So I wanted the color of the tile to be timeless and work seamlessly with whatever decor I brought into the space.
The varied tones of the marble in the Carrara White Marble Mosaic Tile was the perfect variation of grey and white and will pop with the right color grout.
I chose Doleran Grey grout, which was a nice dark contrast to the brighter tile. It looks so great together and so happy of how it turned out!
I fell in love with how the design and color of the Carrara White Marble looked placed out on the floor and gave the bathroom a bigger more elevated luxe feel from the drab brown vinyl flooring that was once there.
I underestimated the impact that hardware can have in your living space. Changing out the matte chrome pulls and fixtures for a brushed brassed was major! It completely elevated my vanity. Also swapping out the large standard mirror for two round his and hers mirrors was a beautiful way to create a more boutique hotel style bathroom.
2020 isn’t canceled and there is still a lot of time left in the year to make something happen. Sometimes we just need to hit the refresh button for a little inspiration and motivation.
This bathroom refresh was just what I needed — thanks again to the Home Depot for helping me tackle my first DIY home project without a hitch.
