I Get It From My Momma

There is no doubt that I wouldn’t be the woman I am today without my mother paving the way for me in so many ways.  She’s funny, hardworking, fearless, mild and quiet, but so smart and thoughtful.  A natural born leader; she could have easily been a lawyer or a politician but she’s always been a woman of God and only worked in order to provide for her 5 children.  She’s strong and resilient and seriously the kindest sweetest person you could ever meet.  She would do anything for you including cook her famous Haitian dishes which is how you know she loves you dearly and have been officially adopted into the family.

But besides my mom just being an all around amazing person I’m most thankful to her for instilling in me core values and most of all confidence.  I’ve always been fat but I’ve always been fabulous.  I didn’t even know being fat was considered a bad thing until I started grade school from my peers.  To me not having my nails painted or not having perfume on was the end of the world — not my fat.  She taught me how important it was to be a good person and woman of my word.  Unbeknownst to me she was teaching me how to be a lady in all circumstances even when things got tough and wasn’t so glamorous.

Thanks mom.  You’re truly the best and although you drive me crazy at times I love you like crazy too.  Musings of a Curvy Lady, Plus Size Fashion, Mother Daughter, Ideel, Polka Dots, ShoeDazzle, BeVIP Musings of a Curvy Lady, Plus Size Fashion, Mother Daughter, Ideel, Polka Dots, ShoeDazzle, BeVIP Musings of a Curvy Lady, Plus Size Fashion, Mother Daughter, Ideel, Polka Dots, ShoeDazzle, BeVIP Musings of a Curvy Lady, Plus Size Fashion, Mother Daughter, Ideel, Polka Dots, ShoeDazzle, BeVIP Musings of a Curvy Lady, Plus Size Fashion, Mother Daughter, Ideel, Polka Dots, ShoeDazzle, BeVIP Musings of a Curvy Lady, Plus Size Fashion, Mother Daughter, Ideel, Polka Dots, ShoeDazzle, BeVIP

  1. Hi I love your style. I just have an issue with how to have a flat tummy. I feel clothes would fit better on me if I didn’t look preggy most of the time. Corsets dont work at times cos the tummy just gets too big some days

  2. Your mother is beautiful! We have so much in common, I feel like you’re my sister from another mister LOL! My mom raised 5 kids, raised us all to be lovers of God, and I absolutely love Justin Timberlake. You rock

  3. Thanks for sharing your mom with us. That’s great. It’s obvious there is mutual admiration here between the two of you. As it should be. You’re both beautiful women. 🙂
