This post is in partnership with Princess Cruises. All opinions are my own.
Cruising is easily one of the best ways to get a taste of different countries without the fuss. You literally get to bring your floating home with you as you travel from port to port. Not to mention your floating home happens to be Sun Princess! In between port days are sea days and you might be thinking, great I’m stuck on a ship.
But I’m here to tell you that’s far from it, friends! A well planned sea day can be just as adventurous or relaxing depending on your mood. Aboard Sun Princess there is so much to do and “sea!”
HAVE ALL DAY BREAKFAST AT HORIZONS
Horizons is one of the many inclusive dining options aboard Sun Princess. But it’s so much more than a common dining room. It stretches 3 levels (deck 6-8) and has the most stunning wake views to enjoy my favorite — all day breakfast. I do a little sweet and savory myself.
LOUNGE POOLSIDE WITH A DRINK
Everyone is literally on the ship on a sea day but don’t let that scare you. There was no shortage of places to lounge on Sun Princess. Between The Dome, the adults only Sanctuary, the 3 other pools and what seemed like an endless amount of loungers you can definitely enjoy some poolside vibes at sea.
WELLNESS at SEA
There’s nothing better than getting a spa day at sea. The newly imagined Lotus Spa stretches 2 floors offering all the relaxation whether you opt for a facial or get a blowout. But for the ultimate pampering experience visit the Enclave; its newly redesigned thermal adults only sanctuary is stunning with salt stone lounges, aromatherapy showers, private cabanas and more.
FORMAL NIGHT
Okay, so formal night is what I look forward to most when cruising. It’s just so fun and I love seeing everyone dressed up. At least one sea day is a dedicated formal night but feel free to dress up every night! You can also take formal pictures which I highly recommend doing with your shipmates. And don’t forget to do the cheesy prom pose! It’s a must.
MAKE RESERVATIONS FOR SPECIALTY DINING
So after you’ve taken your formal portraits head to dinner! Make sure to make a reservation at one of the specialty restaurants on board. You need to try all of them but I do have my favorites. Crown Grille for the best Ribeye, Sabatini’s for the Tiramisu Martini’s and UMAI, a newer dining experience for hibachi or hot pot. Bring an appetite, you will be finishing everything! Princess Cruises has the best food at sea.
ENTERTAIN ME!
Every night on your cruise you will receive the Princess Patter, the go to schedule of all events and activities happening aboard. This is major key to use to plan out your sea days. We make sure to hit up the shows in the new Princess Arena — which is absolutely stunning.
Sun Princess also has new entertainment experiences and performances unlike any other ship including Spellbound and the partnership with Cirque Éloize that is performed in the Dome under starlight.
You can’t go wrong with hitting up the Piazza; every night there is something going down in—It’s the hub and heart of the ship after all. All I have to say is Silent Disco. That was the absolute best! We had much fun and honestly it was the best way to end our day at sea on Sun Princess.
