Hello Beauties <3 I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I was in New Orleans this past weekend and I had THE BEST TIME EVER! I love Nawlins! I will be doing a separate post about some of my looks and feature some shenanigans my lady friends & I got into in LA — I can’t wait to share so stay posted!
To be glam or to be chic? That is the question — and I often find myself asking this very same question when I contemplate what I want to wear. Glam as defined by Merriam – Webster is extravagantly showy; glitter rock. Who doesn’t love this adjective to describe an outfit! Ultimately glam is how every fabulous lady wants to be; however glam has its place in the style world. Glam when done appropriately can create a wearable performance that thrills all of the senses with flashy displays of fashion art. But glam wouldn’t be so special if it were done in every moment of our fashion lives. Picking your glam moments will make them even more fabulous. Beyonce isn’t Sasha Fierce 24/7; so let’s take a lesson from Queen B: it’s important to balance out the glam with being chic.

One definition of the word chic is a smart elegance and sophistication especially of dress or manner; a distinctive mode of dress or manner associated with fashionable lifestyle, ideology, or pursuit. With this definition why wouldn’t you want to be chic every day. It defines a true lady — not only in her dress but in her conduct — the way she carries herself in public and private.
I created two looks to represent the two sides as a lady I try to embrace — the glam along with the chic. I used one pair of trousers as the base of both looks. These pants were originally wide leg trousers that I had tailored and had buttons sewn up the side panel to create a feminine/masculine look. (Invest in a good tailor/seamstress and become their best friend! A simple alteration can completely change the look of how your clothes fit on you and give you that custom made feel whether you’re a size 2 or 22).
Love both looks hun!!! Especially the sequin peplum, that was haute!!!
