Hello Beauties!
Anyone that knows me knows that I love a good musical. What’s not to love — the amazing songs, the dancing, costumes and the memories of watching my favorites with my mom as a curvy kid. One of those favorites happens to feature the great Barbara Streisand — shocker I know — but Funny Girl is the ultimate rags to riches story about a girl who happens to not look like Marilyn Monroe or Grace Kelly but whose witty charm and stellar pipes get her from the slums of the Lower East Side to spotlight and fame even winning the heart of the fanciful Mr. Nick Arnstein along the way. *SWOON* I would tell you more but I don’t want to ruin it for those of you who haven’t seen it. If you haven’t seen it — rent it, borrow it, buy it — just see it! Many iconic Broadway songs are from this musical including Don’t Rain on My Parade where Babs’ kills this song! I do a pretty decent rendition too — in my shower. The acoustics in my shower are kind of amazing!

What’s not so amazing is the weather here in Florida. It has been pretty cold, wet and windy. This typically means that I give in to the changing weather and dreary skies by wearing scarves, tights, leggings, boots etc. But I just can’t seem to transition into my fall/winter wardrobe this season. One reason being is that I haven’t had a chance to wear all of my fabulous spring and summer looks and I don’t like to let the weather to determine my look. That might seem irrational but it’s so obvious to wrap yourself with layers of dark cashmere, wool and fleece but what if I feel like wearing sunny yellow or a sparkling emerald green? There are ways to incorporate these bold colors in your fall/winter look and still dress weather appropriate. So that was the inspiration behind this outfit. I wanted to create a look that is bright and sunny even if the weather is not. Don’t let a cool damp day rain on your stylish parade; amp it up with some color and fun prints.
