All of a sudden the word “basic” has become another way for females to refer to one another in a derogatory, demeaning and condescending way. I honestly cringe when I hear it being used amongst my female contemporaries because I thought we were finally in the era where female on female bashing was no longer cool and that it made you look empty and that supporting and empowering one another was the new cool that made you feel full.
I know not every female makes it their concern to have the latest and greatest or feels the need to keep up with trends in beauty and fashion but that doesn’t make her any less female. What’s in her head and what comes out of her mouth and the way she carries her self is what makes her basically female. Being happy and content with who you are at the end of the day is more important than the virgin hair bundles or the red bottoms in your closet. You can be the prettiest girl in the room but have the ugliest heart — to me that’s basic. Now I know many may disagree and that’s totally okay but this is my blog and I can basically say what I want. lol
I styled this look with basics from Deb. There’s nothing amazing per say about this outfit but I feel amazing in it — comfortable and myself.

Who said that you are only basic? If you want to see bare bones basic, check out my blog verypoorfashionista.blogspot.com. My stuff comes from Walmart and Kmart and I wear it until it wears out. The title of the blog represents wishful thinking, I want to be a fashionista but I’m too poor to do it justice. It is fun trying though!
There is nothing basic here and as much as I love to see your very colorful outfits you rocked this!
That lip color is amazing on you!! I also hate the term “basic” because it’s just one more way to stereotype people.
Love this and I think it would be impossible for you to look basic even if you tried.
