AndThat! Shopping Challenge No. 2: Shop Local

Okay lovelies! I’m back with another shopping Challenge with AndThat! This time I was challenged to shop local vendors that are sold exclusively in AndThat! Jacksonville. It was amazing because I had no idea so many products were made right here in town. I got some delicious oldies but goodies and discovered new brands too that are definitely going to be on continuous rotation.

Did you know AndThat! has this entire food and wine section?! Well they do and it’s top notch. It’s the perfect place to stock up of additions for a charcuterie board for a girls night in.

I picked up everything from a marble cutting board, wine glasses and flatware. I also picked up what might be my favorite discovery, My Pepper Jelly. It is so yummy and perfect on top of a soft cheese.

I also picked up local wine from the San Sebastian Winery in St. Augustine Florida. The chardonnay is a popular choice and compliments a cheese plate so well.

Shopping at AndThat! for a girls-night-in was more of a breeze and less of a challenge. The serving pieces and flatware were beautiful but practical for everyday and special occasions. The jellies and honeys were absolutely delicious! The biggest perk was discovering new local brands and finding them at great prices.

Denim Trends and Classic Fits with Express

It’s easy to become a slave to fashion. With a new trend debuting every other week it’s hard to keep up when you’re just the girl next door and not Blake Lively that calls major coveted designers her BFFs and can change 20 times in a day.

I’m here to tell you that you don’t need to fear. Fashion shouldn’t be feared it should be fun and it’s easy to do with a great fitting pair of jeans.

There is a reason why the classics are called the classics.

Timeless, always in style and can live on from season to season; classics are the building blocks of every wardrobe whether you’re Blake Lively or not. I have found that I can satisfy my on trend curiosity by finding classics styles that incorporate a little bit of today’s trends.

EXPRESS denim is a perfect way to do that. Now that they have extended their size range more women are able to get their hands on their classic styles and fit.

Dark denim has a way of looking more dressed up then lighter washes.

These jeans in a classic high waisted style are great with a graphic tee tucked in for a cool, laidback look.

I love the detail of the distressed hemline. It’s not too over done with frays out of control that I can still wear them with a blazer or jacket for a more polished look.

I’ve been really enjoying shopping the new extended sizes at EXPRESS in-store and online. I can only hope this means more sizes will be coming soon so you can all experience the perfect classic fit denim for yourself.

Musings of a Curvy Lady 2018 Rebrand

It’s finally here! My new website! So much blood, sweat and tears have gone into rebranding my website. I didn’t think the day would come but it’s here and I can’t wait for you to experience it with me.

For the last 2 years I’ve been wanting to create a completely new and different experience when you come to Musings of a Curvy Lady for many reasons. For one, I wasn’t motivated to create when I would come to my own site.

So that’s a problem.

How could I expect anyone else to be excited about the content I was creating if it didn’t excite the content creator?

I had all these ideas but didn’t have the time, money or know-how to make Musings of a Curvy Lady into what I know it could be; a beautiful destination for women everywhere regardless of their size, ethnicity or shape to feel lovely about themselves and to be inspired to chase after their dreams.

So I had to go after mine and that’s where Vanessa my graphic designer comes in to play. She’s been able to take these pretty ideas in my head and translate it onto a computer screen so when you visit Musings of a Curvy Lady it’s not just a picture of an outfit, you get to know me and really get a sense of who I am creatively.

Another reason why I wanted to rebrand was the fact that my creative direction has changed in the last few years. I started creating video content on YouTube but didn’t really have a coordinated way to connect with my site and have everything flow.

I also wanted to include other parts of my world outside of fashion and transition this style blog into more of a lifestyle destination. Besides fashion and beauty you will see more travel, fitness and life content so you get a better experience of all my musings.

Women are amazing creatures and we’re so multifaceted and dynamic.

But I realized that I was the one limiting what this platform could be by boxing myself in as just a fashion outlet. I didn’t want the blog to hold me back but rather allow me to grow and expand my creativity.

I’m more than a fashion blogger and a nurse. I’m a daughter. A sister and caregiver. Lover and a fighter. A creative. I wanted this space to reflect every creative part of me and at the same time be a resource to you, the women that visit this space for positivity and inspiration.

So explore the site! Have fun going through the pages, take a few quizzes, watch some fun videos, shop my faves and discover new products and beauty techniques. Experience the new Musings of a Curvy Lady. It’s the same me, just a little bit more all in one pretty place.
