Finally back home after the cruise, and spring has officially sprung! Spring and Summer are all about finding looks that require minimal effort but offer maximum style. Dresses are my favorite, making styling as easy as 1,2,3!
With having the perfect dress, you also need the perfect shapewear. We all know it can be a bit of a minefield trying to find the perfect style and brand. So, I’m here to give you the lowdown on my favorite shapewear pieces and how to style them flawlessly!

I know some women may want to hide the fact that they want or need to wear shapewear but why?! There are so many justifiable reasons why someone would wear shapewear and the number one reason is just because you can!
Forget about the idea that shapewear is just for bodycons. Who doesn’t need help with smoothing, shaping and contouring?
Personally, regardless of the style of dress, I always wear some sort of control wear because I like the extra support it gives me and it creates smooth clean lines. In this look I felt extra support with my shapewear and patterned tights.

Fashion inspiration can happen at any moment and the inspo behind this look happened while I was driving.
So after I safely arrived home I tried on all the pieces and they looked just like it did in my head. You all know when an outfit that’s so perfect in your head turns out so not what you imagined.
I absolutely loved how this look turned out!
I was gifted the velvet bow shoulder dress from my friends at Draper James but honestly didn’t have any events to wear it to so it just hung in my closet.
But by adding the blouse underneath, patterned tights, pearl beret and combat boots, I was able to turn a special occasion dress into a chic and edgy look for any Blair Waldorf Fashion Enthusiast.
Like I mentioned before this look wouldn’t be complete without my trusty shapewear.
