Target has been dropping some major style collaborations this summer and I’ve been loving it. Love Shack Fancy, Cushnie and more have made it’s way to Target in an array of size inclusive styles.
So when Lisa Marie Fernandez launched her collection of summertime perfection I knew I had to get one.
Lisa Marie Fernandez is known for her bohemian inspired chic designs and having them available at Target prices is more than amazing.
Now everyone can get their hands on her effortlessly glamorous summertime style.
This white pic ran maxi dress is beyond beautiful and I knew this would be the dress I had to have from the collection.
I love all white dresses for summer but the cut and design of this dress amps up the glamour.
The flared, tiered and billowy sleeves give me all the right kind of drama. The touch of Ric Rac is just the right amount of darling.
A fair warning however, this dress is heavy! It’s a lot of material and if you live anywhere like Florida you might be in trouble. This is definitely an indoor dress.

Walmart!
Oh, how I love telling people that! Honestly, it never gets old.
So I’m back with another perfect summer outfit courtesy of Walmart! Walmart Fashion is officially on Instagram and the amazing styles keep coming.
Terra and Sky is one of the many house brands you can shop at Walmart. It’s easily my favorite brand of mine. Not only do they have tons of essential basics but the most darling feminine dresses under $20!
They’re beautiful and easy to style dresses which is great while you keep it cool and stylish during these hot summer months without breaking the bank.
Don’t forget to check out Walmart for accessories too. An easy way to search is to filter and explore their New Arrivals.
How cute is this bag!
I’m so excited I found this super trendy piece and under $25! I have been looking for one for the longest time and so happy I can shop everything I need in one spot at Walmart.
With prices this good it’s no wonder things sell out so definitely grab what you love quick! I’ve also linked a few of my favorites now available to shop.

So I know it’s been awhile since you’ve heard from me and honestly I didn’t know how to jump right into creating content again.
Current world events on top of what was already happening in my world sent me over the edge.
I have good days and bad days. I’m always thankful for the good days.
I’m sharing in today’s post a caption that I wrote on Instagram. So even though I may be smiling, laughing or have it together, know that I am not.
My name is Thamarr and I feel things intensely. 𝘈𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦.
So much so that when all these different feelings would flood into me, the only way to sort through and understand them was to write it out in the pages of my journal.
There I was, in my room, with all my intense, mountainous feelings spilling over onto the lined pages of my composition notebook.
Along with my feelings in written form, these pages were often soaked with my tears.
Sometimes I wish I didn’t feel so intensely.
It would save me a lot of energy, if I didn’t love so much. Save me a lot of sleepless nights, if I didn’t care so much. And overall, have a better sense of general well being if I didn’t have to live with the lingering chronic unease I have in my chest when I see racism, injustice, corruption, discrimination, and inequality.
Recent events have sent my intense feelings into overdrive.
I’m flooded with images of lifeless Black bodies and so many layered emotions that trigger more trauma and emotions. It makes sorting through it all so very complicated, to the point I feel as if I’m literally drowning.
𝘏𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘦𝘭𝘵 𝘴𝘰 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘺?
The feelings becoming visceral, spilling over into my dreams when I sleep and ready to crash and consume me when I wake.
Past traumas, once blurry and unhealed, comes right into focus and made crystal clear. I can’t look away. I can’t feel it away.
The funny thing is, just like that, I will have a moment of peace, of hope and feel really light.
I honestly don’t know why it happens the way it does was but I thanked God for the moment of respite. It happened to me yesterday morning towards the end of my shift at the hospital.
It honestly felt as if God was like, “Girl, just give it all to me. Give me all of your burning hurt, the rage, the doubt and hopelessness you’re feeling so intensely right now. 𝘐 can take it.”
Because yesterday was the first day in a long time where I didn’t have that intense feeling of unease in my chest (and the first time l felt inspired to write.)
Disclosure: Thank you Lane Bryant for sponsoring this post! All opinions are my own.
Living in Florida you can catch people rocking tee shirts and shorts all year round. It’s basically our uniform and another perk of living in the Sunshine State.
This classic combo was made for summertime and easy living but it doesn’t have to be boring so let’s make it fun with texture and trendy prints, shall we?
The perfect tee is essential for this to work.
The Tee Shop at Lane Bryant has a bunch of really cute ones right now that you can mix and match for endless summertime ‘fits.
I’v been loving everything rust colored and tie dye is so trendy right now, so when I got this front-tie tee I thought it was the perfect combination of the two.
Instead of pairing it with plain white shorts I grabbed this super femme and darling white eyelet belted short that will definitely get plenty of wear this summer. It’s simple to wear with a tee shirt but can be glammed up for hot summer nights. 😉. I love the texture that it adds!
By simply adding sneakers, wedges or sandals, your classic summer uniform becomes a lot more fun and more you because you’re wearing something you love and feel good in.
So bare those arms and legs while you catch some rays this season in the ultimate summer uniform, a classic tee shirt and shorts. Happy Summering!
Mondays tend to get a bad rep. It’s the beginning of the work week for many and 5 longs sleeps till the weekend.
With most of us finding ourselves working from home it may be extra challenging dealing with the distractions and keeping motivated.
Believe me, I’ve struggled having no desire to work and just stay in bed and binge watch something on Netflix. But I find myself in a better mood when I set up a plan to execute and implement ways to being effective and productive.
I found multiple articles from different industries and business backgrounds on how to stay motivated while working from home during quarantine and a lot of them shared many of the same points. Here are my favorites points.
SET AN ALARM AND WAKE UP EARLY
Rumors are true: the early bird does get the worm.
When I find myself waking up later in the day, the hours seem to fly by and I never have a chance to catch up.
But by setting an alarm and waking up early I’m setting myself up for success. I have more hours in the day to accomplish my to-do list.
Remember to eat a filling and brain boosting breakfast like avocado toast or a green smoothing with berries.
GET DRESSED
Believe me it’s very tempting to stay in my PJs and sweats but it’s a proven fact that getting dressed up even though you’re just going down the hall will help boost your mood.
Because our clothing has a lot of meaning behind it we tend to adopt a different personality when we wear certain pieces. Imagine how you feel when you wear a blazer versus a hoodie or bikini versus a dress.
If you wear something that you’d normally lounge in, you’re more likely to get less done. If you can try to avoid it do.
MAKE A SCHEDULE
If I don’t write down what my day-to-day schedule I’m asking for it. I’m more productive when I physically write things down as opposed to putting it in my phone.
Also give yourself a timed lunch break and quitting time. I know for me since I freelance and work for myself as well as as nurse in a hospital, I have to plan out my days so that they are the most effective and the hours don’t creep into my bedtime.
DON’T WORK WHERE YOU SLEEP
If it’s possible do not work from bed. It’s just a lost cause. You will be more productive if you can have a separate space to work from so you don’t associate rest and relaxation with deadlines and emails.
GET ACTIVE
Carve out time to get some physical activity. Remember what Elle Woods said,
“Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don’t shoot their husbands, they just don’t.”
You won’t kill your husbands and you’ll be tackling that to-do list in no time.
I personally always feel better after doing some sort of exercise. I just have to remember the feeling of feeling crappy when I don’t do anything and allow those negative feelings to keep me in bed. Remember how good you felt the last time you got moving. It doesn’t have to be an hour long routine but just get moving.
STAY OFF THE ‘GRAM
How is it an hour (or two) can fly by while scrolling on the ‘gram? When you have work to do cut off major app distractions whether it’s Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat or Facebook.
You can get lost in the nothing and the next thing you know you’ve reposted 20 memes, pinned 4 banana bread receipes and haven’t finished that one email response.
Keep your device away from your work station and keep your phone on “Do Not Call” so you don’t get distracted by others. Instagram will always be there, so try and remember that scrolling can wait.
GET A CHANGE OF SCENERY
Go outside and see some nature. It’s a calming and it’s free and can act as a reward for finishing up a project.
As an ambivert I sometimes enjoy and thrive working at home but other times I absolutely hate working without an adventure.
So having moments to get out for a change of scenery forces me not to isolate and reward myself with only something on TV. A quick 15 minute walk around my neighborhood does the trick.
No, it’s not the same as doing 2 hours of work at my local Starbucks but it helps switch things up.
Hope you found these tips helpful! Please feel free to bookmark this post so that you can refer back to these reminders. I’m rooting for you and for all of us.
With this extra time in quarantine I’m learning a lot about myself – the good and the bad. How about you?
I’m learning what I want and don’t in a potential partner, what irritates me for no reason at all, what sparks light and joy and skills I never knew I had.
I’m also learning of the things I’ve taken for granted like making plans and keeping them.
As much as I am a social butterfly I’d relish the time I have by myself and often times wouldn’t be hung up over plans that ended up getting cancelled. We’d always make plans for another time, right?
“I’d rather be by myself,” I would say.
Oh, how the tables have turned.
I can’t even believe that was once true. I wish I wasn’t by myself at this point.
I miss social interaction much like everyone else right now and I plan on not taking it for granted once we’re past this thing.
Things changed so quickly and honestly my mood and emotions do to. Day by day.
So I totally get it, universe. Major lesson learned.
What have you been doing with your extra time?
In the meantime I’m learning how to mix cocktails. I think I getting pretty good. Maybe I will share some tips and tricks in another post. Would you be interested in that? Let me know in the comments below.
This look was one from my last photoshoots pre-quaratine life. Can’t wait to wear it again for a IRL get together with friends.
It’s crazy to think that the photos in today’s post were taken just a few short weeks ago while on a mini girls’ Day Trip in Orlando.
My friends and I wanted to get out of Jacksonville and just see something different. So we hit the road and made good use of a full day.
We ventured to the cutest coffee shops, local eateries and did a little shopping.
It was such a good day. It wasn’t a big to-do. Just got my girls together and hopped in the car. It was just so much fun driving around and getting lost.
We found the most amazing vine wall near the Rifle Paper Co. and it proceeded to then be the location for a mini photoshoot.
Shortly after this trip, our world changed. Social distancing has become our new normal with many states under a “stay-at-home” executive orders.
Schools are closed, proms and graduations canceled. People are losing their jobs and people are hoarding toilet paper. I never would have thought this would be our new reality just a few short weeks after this trip.
I can’t help but miss my old problems in a pre-Covid-19 world. But I am thankful for my health, family and my job (even though it’s super scary right now to be a nurse on the front lines.)
When this is all over I won’t take for granted getting to hug my mom, or meet together to study the Bible or go on a day trip for a change of scenery with my girlfriends.
Don’t be fooled by the model on the website wearing this dress. You might be missing out on a gorgeous spring dress.
When I first saw this dress I was immediately attracted to the pattern, color and ruffle detail but if I looked at how it was styled on the model well I would have totally passed on this dress.
It was way oversized and just looked slovenly to be quite honest.
That’s why I love doing what I do. As a style influencer I am your resource as the in-between of the consumer and the model. I’m both.
I can present to you a styled look that is quite different from what is provided on an e-commerce site or in-store mannequin and at the same time I’m the consumer that goes through the trial and error of online shopping so you don’t have to.
I want Musings of a Curvy Lady to be a resource for you not just for fashion advice so that’s why I’m so excited to be sharing with you a brand new and improved newsletter.
This newsletter from the desk of yours truly will be a beautiful way to keep up with all of my musings.
I will be sharing exclusive content, anecdotes, and my weekly favorites all in one space and delivered to you inbox.
I hope you continue to enjoy the content that I bring to you here on the blog but the newsletter is just a personal extension of all that. You can sign up here if you haven’t already!
The Art of the Dress – 25% off Everything At Anthropologie
There is no surprise here to know that I absolutely love Anthropologie. Ever since launching the A+ Anthropologie line last year I have been truly obsessed. I check the site almost daily – multiple times daily.
The one thing that I can always count on from Anthropologie is an endless gorgeous supply of unique and feminine dresses.
The same beautiful, dreamy and romantic pieces that you have come to know from Anthropologie are now available in sizes The A+ Anthropologie line is available 16W-26W.
The newest Anthro arrivals are here just in time for Spring and I cannot explain how excited I am for this new season and the goodness that’s coming.
I absolutely love the Rochelle White Eyelet Dress. It’s well made and it’s has stretch so it fits like a glove. I’m wearing a 2X and it’s super flattering and comes partially lined to the knees.
I’ve had a lifelong love affair with dresses. I can remember how a dress would marked a special occasion or moment in my life.
And over the years I have managed to finesse the art of the dress, whether it’s a special occasion, a first date, an unforgettable vacation or everyday wear — the dress can be just as important as the woman wearing them.
Over the last year many amazing moments in my life have been captured while wearing a beautiful dress from Anthropologie.
There new arrivals is a treasure trove of all kinds of dresses. From maxi, midi, mini and even asymmetrical, you’re going to perfect the art of the dress at Anthropologie.
I’m so excited to share that today through the weekend everything at Anthropologie is 25% off! This is the absolute best time to get that dress you’ve been eyeing.
So the coronavirus has made its way to shopping centers, The Silos, Disney World and music festivals left and right are closing up shop. It sounds like Coachella, the biggest spring music festival, will be cancelled due to the novel virus and I’m not surprised or mad at it.
Personally, I’m not really one for crowds. Even before the virus I would limit my time in crowds because I was anxiously concerned about tuberculosis or the flu. What can I say, I just can’t shut the nurse side of my brain off…
But any who, here I am in the safety of my quiet neighborhood creating some Coachella inspired fashion.
I love a good monochromatic look and this cropped denim jacket and mom jean duo is something I haven’t really seen made in plus. So I was excited to give this trend a go and of course make it my own.
For reference I’m wearing a size 22 in both the mom jeans and jacket. The jeans have some stretch and I could have probably done a 20.
I paired the look with a bodysuit but unfortunately the one I’m wearing is sold out but here is one with a similar vibe. Kept the neutral vibes with suede tan booties and my wide brim boater hat.
Happy Anniversary to #APlusByAnthropologie! Can’t believe it’s already been a year of amazing plus-size style.
To celebrate, I’ve teamed up with @anthropologie and giving away a $250 @Anthropologiegift card to my wonderful followers!

This dress has to be one of the nicest things I’ve had on my body. It is so well made and the detailed embroidery to the sleeves and bodice are other worldly.
You could win a chance to get this or any other piece from Anthropologie by entering the giveaway on my instagram account! Best wishes!
This outfit to me is the perfect representation of that in between season between Winter and Spring.
Warm weather is on the horizon but cool breezes remind us of the frigid cold – so the real question is how do I dress for this weather?
This mini wrap dress is made of the coziest material that is sure to keep you warm but the length and style is fun for Spring.
Paired with OTK boots it’s a great way to pretend it’s Spring but still keep those legs warm.
No surprise this look is featuring pieces from A+ Anthropologie. I know many of you haven’t tried the extended line yet. So I have to ask – What are you waiting for?
Anthropologie offers free shipping and returns for plus so there really isn’t any risk in trying. Definitely sign up for the AnthroPerks that way you can stay in the know of the awesome sales that Anthro has.
I personally score many of my Anthro pieces while on sale. It’s a great way to build the wardrobe you want at the price point you will love. Right now there is an additional 25% off their sale.
I think I just found the most perfect pants for Spring!
These BlankNYC Tapered Faux Leather pants I scored at Anthropologie last month have easily become one of my favorite purchases so far this year and I have been completely obsessed with them.
Initially I bought the size 24W (I’m wearing that size in the images in this post) but thought they were a little too bag in the front so I exchanged them for a 22W and the fit was perfect.
I’ll be sharing another style post with the new size so you can see the difference.
The tapered pant leg in this fun color give a snazzy way to wear your tees and button down shirts tucked in.
Some more specs about these pants are that they run large and have an adjustable drawstring that can easily wrap around twice.
The only issue I have with the pants are that you can’t wash or dry clean them. You can only take a damp cloth to wipe it down. There is this weird smell that comes from the viscous material that I just can’t get rid of. Other than that I love them.
