Mmm, Donuts

When I saw this sweater I immediately thought of Homer Simpson and his obsession with the fried, glazed, decorated pastry.  Donuts are a treat that I don’t typically indulge in unless I’m at work at the hospital.   Family members and coworkers alike love to bring in boxes of Krispy Kreme to show their appreciation for all that we do and even though I may not have desired a donut before that moment you can’t tell me anything when I’m in the presence of a warm, freshly fried and glazed circle of goodness.

So when I was shopping with the intention of finding suede pink pumps (the hunt continues by the way — still no luck) I stumbled upon this fun pastry print.  Did I set out to by a sweater covered in sequined donuts?  No.  Did I have to have it once I’d seen it?  Yes.  Mmm, donuts.

This look is from the latest collection of LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s.  I love her ultra femme classic designs and although she does not cater to the plus size girly girl (which by the way is a total bummer, LC)  I’m still able to make a few items from the line work for my body.  Goes to show that you should always try things on because you may be surprised.  It’s not about the number on the label it’s about the fit on the body.

  1. If you don’t mind answering… what size do you normally wear and which size did you purchase in the sweater and skirt? I’m LOVING it, but I’d have to order online and I’m not sure I want to splurge if it’s not going to fit. Thanks! 🙂

  2. Such a darling outfit! I love its whimsy and kitsch. The palette of grays keep it from being too cutesy, which is genius. As far as the pink suede pumps: have you tried looking on Pink Basis? Their selection is ginormous, and I remember seeing a pair or two of suede-looking pink pumps. They’re super affordable. It may be worth taking a look!
