I’m so excited to share that I have a new blogger friend and the best part is that she lives like 10 minutes from me : ) Her name is Kirstin Anderson of the blog Kirstin Marie and she’s also a contributing writer for The Curvy Fashionista. I first came across Kirstin’s blog through her writing on TCF and later learned that she was in Florida which is cool but Florida is also a very big state. But then to find out that she recently moved to Jacksonville and then to my side of town — within minutes of me is kinda crazy!? It’s like we were meant to meet each other and become blogging besties! So as soon as we found out how close we were to each other we decided to meet up —yeah so that was like 3 months ago… with each passing week our busy conflicting schedules left us pushing back our blogger date.
Finally this past weekend we were able to meet and I must say I am smitten. Kirstin is a sweet, kind, fashionably fierce young woman and it was very easy to talk to her.
Meeting another blogger for the first time can always be a little nerve wracking. It can feel very much like a scene from Mean Girls with the “You can’t sit with us!” mentality and frenemy (friend + enemy) competitive nature but there was none of that between us.
We both bring different things to the table and I think that’s a great way for your style to grow and evolve. Meeting her felt like I gained and asset, blogger ally and shoe buddy (did I mention we wear the same shoe size!) We talked about blogging, boys, and baubles. The flow was so easygoing I just knew that it would be the beginning of a beautiful and fashionable friendship!
