Dots & Stripes Forever

Happy Sunday!
Polka dots are basically one of my all time favorite patterns EVER!!!  So it was a no brainer when I got this shirt a few months ago that it would be put to good use.  Then I found these striped shoes and well it created pretty much the perfect mixed print pairing with my cobalt blue circle midi skirt as the anchor to this outfit and added pops of red via my purse and lippie. Booty Never Left

So, there’s this VOGUE article out causing a little bit of a stir on Twitter.  It’s entitled “We’re Officially in the Era of the Big Booty” where the article goes on about how revolutionary J.Lo and Iggy Azalea have been to the acceptance and glorification of the big booty woman.  No doubt butt baring and it’s adoration has had a popular resurgence in current pop culture thanks to Beyoncé, Nikki Minaj and the Kardashian’s  but I’m over here like I never left.

Curvita Banana

Hey Everyone & Happy Monday!
So I’m just getting back from my recent holiday to the Dominican Republic.  My friends recently got hitched and they wanted a group honeymoon with family and friends which I think was a totally awesome idea and I’m so glad I was able to go.  I spent the first 5 days at the resort in Puerto Plata with the crew and then I broke off for a couple of days to spend some time with my friend in Altamira and then reunited with the group for our last hurrah on the island.  Hair and fashion fell victim to the humidity so I hardly wore anything other than bathings suit and shorts but I was able to snap a few  pictures of my holiday curvy style — this was obviously before my beach waves became more reminiscent of Sideshow Bob.

Basic

All of a sudden the word “basic” has become another way for females to refer to one another in a  derogatory, demeaning and condescending way.  I honestly cringe when I hear it being used amongst my female contemporaries because I thought we were finally in the era where female on female bashing was no longer cool and that it made you look empty and that supporting and empowering one another was the new cool that made you feel full.
